Useful information: Summer School 2026

Arrival

You will be arriving in Durham by train on Monday morning.

If you wish to leave luggage at the Delta Hotels Durham Royal County, this is fine - they have a luggage room - though it will be too early to check in. Alternatively feel free to bring your bag with you straight to the summer school from the station.

The Hotel (sometimes known as the Marriott, in addition to its current name of Delta Hotels Durham Royal County) is a 0.5 mile walk from the railway station.

The Summer School venue (the Mountjoy Centre and Department of Computer Science, DH1 3UP) is about a mile from the hotel, or 1.5 miles from the station (with the most direct route from the station being a beautiful walk along the river banks).

The summer school location is here - please go to the main entrance of the Mountjoy Centre upon arrival to register.

Please aim to arrive between 12:00-12:30, to allow you to register and grab some lunch, before we start at 13:00. Most trains are scheduled to arrive before this (bar one or two coming from further away).

Please let us know if you are likely to be late.

Registration

There will be a registration desk in the Mountjoy Centre, where you can pick up a name badge, and then grab some lunch.

Food

The summer school is fully catered and we have noted your dietary requiremenets.

Slack

We have set up a Slack channel so that you can chat with other participants. Should you wish to be added, please let us know.
